Earlier today, in honor of @jesse.base.eth’s bday, we experimented with our very first @betrmint round featuring a @baseapp.base.eth post coin, and here’s how it went 👇 First of all, it was permissionless. It was a last-minute idea to do a BETR tribute to @base.base.eth builder 001 on his birthday, and @netnose cranked out the contract changes to accommodate featuring a Basepost coin in just a couple hours. Jesse was busy on a birthday Zora stream and so we decided to just market buy some $JESSE for the prize pool, add in some $BETR and YOLO it. Aside from a few routing issues and and some dropped tx here and there, the round went very smoothly and we saw hundreds of people rush in to buy a little bit of Jesse’s birthday cast from earlier today so they could spin the neon flywheel & try their luck at a variable reward in $JESSE or $BETR. Buy pressure from the BETRMINT round pushed the market cap of that content coin from around $1000, up 8x to over $8.8K. The content coin was also trending on both Farcaster and Zora during the round. Seems good. Meanwhile, the round also generated $800 in creator rewards (half in ETH, half in $BETR) and we’ll give Jesse the option to keep those as a bday gift, pay them forward to our next featured creator, or give them to any Based creator or cause of his choice. All in all, a based and worthwhile experiment to celebrate a legendary birthday. Thanks to everyone who tapped in! 🎂
