2025 was our neon glow up. 2026 is the year to grow up! Back in April of last year, we launched our humble mini app, @betrmint, to see if we could leverage a little bit of dopamine into a lot of distribution for founders and creators in our ecosystem. The answer was a resounding YES. Nine months later, we’ve featured over 100 builders and creators across 125 viral rounds of BETRMINT, representing more than 140,000 spins of the neon flywheel and generating over $300,000 in total app revenue! We also paid out more than $80K directly to our featured creators and builders, and we spent most of the past six months parked in the top 10 trending mini apps leaderboard, hanging out with absolute legends like @jake’s QR, @atown’s Emerge, @naz1188’s Rips, @farcasteradmin.eth’s Eggs, and more. In September, we won the Onchain Summer Awards top prize for Best Live Mini App, and then we were selected from 700+ applicants to fly to Argentina and take part in the Base Batches incubator. It was an incredible experience that helped us hone in on what was working and prepare for our next chapter. Somewhere in the middle of all of the above, we also shipped a bespoke, native, neon staking terminal for our app coin $BETR, and we’ve been sharing real mini app revenue with our stakers ever since. To date, we’ve paid out over 2 billion $BETR in rewards to our biggest BETR Believers, and the current APY is still over 30%. (Not staking yet? BETR fix that!) And while a lot of projects this past year were basically passing meteors in the night sky, we instead invested in building a real community from day one. Our CFO (Chief Fun Officer) @burr.eth has kept the BETR-verse alive and thriving with poker tournaments, games, art contests, and general mischief. Charts go up and charts go down, but strong communities stick together. 💪🏼 ⸻ So, what’s next? As we enter 2026, we’ve got some exciting improvements planned for BETRMINT and the $BETR token, and we wanted to give you a sneak peek here before it starts showing up everywhere. 🩷 First of all, BETR Labs is official, and $BETR is our canonical token. @netnose and I incorporated BETR Labs Inc. a few months back as a Delaware C-Corp and a devco vehicle to power everything we’re doing and will do together: BETRMINT today, and the broader BETR-verse tomorrow. In addition to its utility and yield within our flagship mini app, we also consider $BETR to be the official token of BETR Labs, and in the coming days you’ll start to see that reflected across public-facing token pages (Dexscreener, @clanker, CoinGecko, etc.). We’ve also been thinking a lot about what a “labs token” should do: not just as a utility token for an app, but also as a token of support for a movement, a ticket to early opportunities that may arise, and a way to align the people building with the people believing (hopefully, that’s you.) 🩵 Secondly, we used our Onchain Summer prize to buy back more $BETR! After a lot of thought, we decided to take the majority of our Onchain Summer USDC cash prize and buy back $20,000 worth of $BETR for our strategic treasury. These transactions already happened over the past two weeks while the market was quiet, half as market buys, half OTC, and in total we added just under 4 billion $BETR to our balance sheet, or about 4% of supply. As always, these tokens will never be sold, and will only be used and distributed for strategic community initiatives and incentives. At the end of the day, we could’ve taken those twenty G’s and paid ourselves a nice bonus after months of relentless shipping, but reinvesting in BETR just felt like the right move. We’re betting on ourselves here, and choosing to back the people who’ve been betting on us all along. 🩷 Thirdly, we’ve completely redesigned the staking terminal, and thats rolling out today! We know you all loved the neon glow up we gave the main app flow recently, and it was time to bring the staking modals up to par. Winning together is about to get a whole lot BETR (on the eyes!) 🩵 Fourth and finally: We are building some exciting new game modes for BETRMINT, and a path to scalable, permissionless dopamine-powered distribution. Over the past few months, @netnose and I have been hard at work on brand-new game modes that will let founders and creators tap the dopamine distribution machine in more seamless, permissionless ways. This is an important first step toward dogfooding BETR Boost, the turnkey onchain distribution dashboard we’ve been quietly building in parallel to BETRMINT, which will make it extremely easy for founders and creators to leverage their tokens and meaningfully expand their audience on Farcaster and The Base App. The Introduction of permissionless BETRMINT game modes is an important and strategic evolution that will really allow our flagship app to scale, while we continue to build other experiences and features that complement and enhance. Expect some news about these new game modes in the very near future.
