I mostly agree. The key insight here is the distinction between the “open web” that has quietly become corposlop, and the idea of a sovereign web. Corposlop isn’t just big companies it’s a pattern: profit-maximizing systems that look respectable but systematically extract attention, data, and agency from users. They pretend to serve people while quietly disempowering them. Early Bitcoin maximalists were right to fear this loss of sovereignty, even if many chose the wrong solutions. Today, sovereignty isn’t only about resisting governments it’s about protecting privacy, attention, and independent thought from corporate optimization. The real goal should be tools that empower users: local-first software, sane financial systems, human-augmenting AI, and platforms that optimize for long-term value instead of short-term engagement. Be sovereign. Reject corposlop. Build with intent.
