It will always be a spectrum, not a sudden moment in time.

But one goal I’ve had for a long time (what I frequently write down) is I want to get to 1B people accessing an open financial system through our products every day.

When we do this, I feel like getting to 50% of the global population would be possible as a next step.

It could “feel” like a sudden moment in retrospect, like the iPhone moment, or Netscape moment. I think the first truly breakout superapp will be that moment (hopefully it is Base app).

problem of "present work of figuring out compliance" is it very quickly runs up against each regulatory requirement "[evolving] in each place over time". armstrong and co traded trump public and financial support for helping push through crypto-friendly regulations, but they will only be de-facto entrenched so far as there are no political agents with the ability and motivation to undo or subvert those laws

and then that doesn't include:
- EU/UK/AUS/NZ/JPN/SK/etc "western-aligned"
- BRICS (who as of now have not managed to develop standard of economic cooperation as complex as the EU)
- all other "less-developed" economies with their own regulations (or lack thereof)

(Also, I think if no one does the present work of figuring out compliance, we don’t really have a crypto that connects meaningfully to the actual economy, and therefore it never grows enough to become viable)
