I think it’s a masterpiece by Göransson.
The use of period instruments — especially the aulos (ancient Greek flute) — creates something strange in some kind of familiar way, like an encountering a memory you didn’t know you had.
It feels as important as anything for the world-building that is happening for the audience.
The song “Odysseus” makes you want to fall on your knees and pray. Penelope’s song is also very interesting — there some careful sonic motifs that are established here. As artful as the visual ones.
This whole film is a precious contribution to modern man.
