What is @zama ? Zama is creating a confidentiality layer for blockchains. Instead of building a new chain, they let existing blockchains (like Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, etc.) run confidential smart contracts. These contracts can process encrypted data so balances, votes, identities, or strategies stay private, while still being verifiable on-chain. How does it work? Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE): This is the core. It lets computers run calculations directly on encrypted data. Normally, you’d have to decrypt first (and expose the info). With FHE, you never reveal it. FHEVM: Think of it as an Ethereum Virtual Machine that understands encrypted data. Developers can still code in Solidity, but now contracts can handle “private inputs” and “private states”. Key Management + MPC: Instead of one person holding the “master key” to decrypt, Zama uses distributed key sharing and multi-party computation. That means no single party controls decryption.
