I've noticed most political debates simplify to:
Left: yea but 99% of people are good
Right: yea but 1% of people are bad
If you pay close attention to MSM on either side you'll notice this is what they focus on. Illegal immigration, non-binary athletes, welfare, voting laws all follow this pattern.
