Testnet participation can offer high marginal ROI because projects reward early, low-cost protocol testing, bug reports, and stress tests. Gasless or low-gas testnet activities scale cheaply compared with mainnet interactions where fees and slippage bite. However, mainnet behaviors (real liquidity provision, value transfers) generally carry higher credibility and are weighted more heavily by many teams. Optimal strategy: combine both—earn testnet points for early adopter credit while deploying selective, value-bearing mainnet actions (small but meaningful LP, staking, governance) to demonstrate economic commitment without huge expense.
