The family that built the Order of Protection considers itself to be the benign ruler of the Realms. The strong sons and daughters that spring from its bloodlines are sent out to the Realms as errant knights and role models for the other Orders and the Republics. The paternalistic will of these monarchs is braced by the swollen Vaults of magical items that they keep entirely to themselves.
