Fearmongering on vote splitting is a great way to never get anywhere. Especially since, as centrist parties tend to vote more often with right wing parties on bills than with left parties. And since, much of this split is expected to have come from the Labour Party directly who have lost 300,000 members since 2019. There shouldn’t be as big of a “split” as you imply. So yeah, lesson in there, ignore this kind of nonsensical, go-nowhere thinking.

Good question. I believe they’re signing up to join the party. Fight for a Future made the “biggest political party in the UK” claim. Zarah Sultana and Corbyn who will co-lead the party, referred to them as 500,000 people have joined. And the text of the form on the site seems to be along the lines of how you would affiliate yourself with a party in Canada whose system is similar. But I do think the party is not official yet so I guess it can’t be 1:1 the same. Still very promising for when it does become official.

Yes! At least as far as we have data for. The last official data is 432k for Labour Party in 2022 (the biggest party by almost 3x). Your Party (that’s the current name of Corbyn’s new party) today passed 500k. And, interestingly many of those members probably came from Labour so the gap surely widened.

I think what we need is for QR code scanners to be built with added security layers. Crypto wallets should give warnings, iPhone and Android camera should scan the link for malware and make you consent before going through if there’s any cause for concern. Maybe auto sandbox sites reached via QR.

Saw a YouTube video a few months back where someone showed how to switch to it and honestly it’s a beautiful font. I use it while writing and then in reader view I use OpenDyslexic because it helps my ADD brain read and notice typos and absorb knowledge quicker

The frustrating thing about using the iOS26 beta is that no third-party app has shipped the relevant settings for UI Kit to target to automatically update the look. As a result every app looks out of place. Even the keyboard pops up as the old keyboard. I get that there’s a risk of whole UIs breaking if it’s not rolled out cautiously but step up devs, official release is just over a month away.

That’s really impressive. Honestly I’m not surprised either. Seems like you’ve built an environment where people aren’t afraid to be themselves. I think that goes a long way. Additionally, and I’ve felt this way since you first told me about the project, in my DMs before it had a name or you’d announced it officially at least: this is an idea that has legs and I think the kind of people serious enough to apply and get hired, want to see it through.
