Pakistan has decided to use 2,000 MW of surplus electricity for two new purposes: opening Bitcoin mining farms and building AI centers. The Ministry of Finance promised to exempt equipment from import duties and reduce taxes for businesses, aiming to attract foreign capital and create high-tech jobs.
The plan is divided into two phases: using surplus electricity immediately, then gradually switching to renewable energy. Pakistan currently ranks 9th globally in terms of crypto usage.
