With all these cartoonish evil super villains like Thiel, I am starting to embrace simulation theory more and more every day. Would future me sign up to play an ancestor sim? Fuck yes. Does future tech allow for freezing body/stopping ageing while the mind wanders in a MMO? Probably. Do you get to join the priest class after you have gained the wisdom of X number of lives played through from birth to death? Sounds about right. To gain that wisdom you would have to not know you are in a sim, then you are truly invested in the game. It's like the difference between playing paintball and call of duty, if the bullets hurt you get more into it. And NPCs, so many NPCs! You remember back in school and you would meet someone, ask what they were interested in, and get some super generic BS answer? "I like soccer" "I like horses" "I like weed". That's it. That was the basis of their entire personality, one or two things that everyone else was also into. Personally, I had like dozens of different "interests" as a kid and was always finding new things I wanted to try or research. Many kids just seemed like they had no depth. What do yall think? Am I just losing my grip on reality? Or is it likely we are not in the base reality? Deja vu? Time acceleration or deceleration? Glitches? Impossibly good or bad luck? .......
