This Coldcard hack is making me thank God I would never buy a hardware wallet that doesn't support Monero.
The holy hardware wallet of Bitcoin maxis turned out to be not so holy. They turned their nose up at "shitcoin" devices and it cost them everything.
The hubris of some Bitcoin maxis didn't just create financial damage, it set back the cause of freedom. Permanent damage has been done to the self custody and freedom tech movement, because these maxis were more concerned with purity tests than security.
This Coldcard hack hits just as the community is already dealing with the BIP110 drama and a bear market. I hope some good comes out of all this and the community becomes more open minded and less puritanical.
