In these troubled political times, I wanted to share two non-partisan organizations that are fighting for the empowerment of US citizens, no matter which side the government is: 1. Open Primaries (https://openprimaries.org/), they push for State reforms to improve our election primary processes. Today, the way primaries work, you improve your chances as a candidate if you have radical / extreme views. By opening primaries to be non-partisan and open to everyone, we will naturally force candidates that appeal to more constituents (vs candidates that appeal to party minorities). I contribute. 2. Fire (https://www.thefire.org/), the Foundation for Individuals Rights and Expression, which basically defends the right to free speech. I've followed them for a long time before contributing because I wanted to be certain of their non-partisan approach and I can attest that they were suing right and left during Biden admin... and they're still suing right and left during Trump admin. No democracy can function without true free speech. I contribute. 3. Mobile Voting (https://www.mobilevoting.org/), a non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting free and fair elections by developing end-to-end secure mobile voting technology and advocating for it at the State level. I am not yet a contributor because I discovered them not that long ago so I am still in my "monitoring phase". But it looks promising! Any other you're thinking of and that should make it to this list? Non-partisan only, that's criteria #1.
