Take a break from failing crypto prices for a second to focus on builders building:
@fairmint proposes a standard for "private NFTs" 🔐
The idea:
Let NFT owners prove ownership (via SIWE) before accessing private metadata attached to an NFT.
This enables things like gated content, documents, memberships, and other owner-only experiences.
What it is:
• Simple to implement
• Compatible with existing NFT infrastructure
What it isn't:
• A fully decentralized solution for private data distribution
The goal was practicality, not censorship resistance.
