Richard the Lionheart was never physically present in Hagia Sophia; he never visited Constantinople. The idea of him being there is a fictional concept from an 1849 painting by Gaspare Fossati, titled "Richard the Lionheart Receives the Lord's Supper in Hagia Sophia". The painting is now housed in the Swiss National Museum.
