Will the base token be released?
It's not certain yet. The Base team announced for the first time that they are seriously tackling the "network token wipe." No clear plans have been announced yet regarding design, timing, or governance. Since they are based in the US, they stated that they will comply with regulations and share transparently with the community.
What did they announce?
Base - Solana Bridge: Transfers will be possible between ERC20 and SPL. It will be possible to use SOL on Base and transfer Base assets to Solana.
The bridge is open source and the testnet is live, coming to the mainnet soon.
Base Batches 002: A new developer program will provide funding and mentorship.
Base App updates: The beta has a waitlist of over 1 million, with creator payments exceeding $500,000. It will be available to everyone soon.
Base Build: Offers user analytics, a provider, and $500 in gas credits for mini-app developers.
