When I first wake, I like to rest on my back and inhale deep breaths. Slowly but surely, get that belly full of air. Exhale. Repeat as many times as you like!
Next, bring your awareness to the parts of your body: your hands, feet, entire body being supported by the bed etc. Notice the tingling sensation that arises in your hands and feet. Spreading consciousness throughout your body.
Then, allow the sounds around you to enter your awareness. Hear that wind? The cars in the distance? A bird or two? All appearances in awareness. Allow.
