idk, i’m not really liking this tipping culture on fc. like yeah — i get the idea of appreciating someone for sharing good stuff, but idk, the word `tip` just feels off. i got ~6 usdc yesterday for a post, and seeing it labeled as `tips` in my wallet feed felt kinda weird tbh. cc @noiceapp

Liked (and tipped 😜) I'm with you, it's weird. But crypto is weird, it's the frontier of online experimental social behaviours Most of the tokens we use to tip aren't even money, they're units of value we created ourselves. We're just reusing words from the real world but the whole experience is fundamentally novel In my case I'm tipping $STREME which is streaming into my wallet each block. None of this is normal... and I love it ❤️

agreed, at last money is just an assurance of a act, not means to the act itself. but, in modern america tips are considered to be part of people’s salary, where the employer is not paying them the minimum standards. over time it has became a norm.
maybe “support” pledging your support for something online with monetary weightage

What'd you prefer they name it

I actually get ticked off with support as opposed to tip. The former sounds like without it, you won't be able to do what you do. The latter conveys an additional reward.

I think ‘cheers’ would be a fun word “kai cheered you with $1” “you’ve been cheered $1 by kai” same with ‘backed’ “kai just backed you with $1” “you’ve been backed by kai with $1”
