Are there not classes of new entrepreneurs building the platforms, apps, tokens etc to enable all the gambling? Don't ignore the effort bc the outcome is a little icky

I mean, he played the game and had a big acq, he is effectively post-economic We need people saying this who aren’t looking down from a high horse to make it stick imo This whole cultural shift is a reflection of real suffering Different for me to hear this message come from someone who is even at least somewhat experiencing this suffering vs someone who won the game, you know Also too there is a place for some of these things as entertainment right, like despite my own Puritanism I see this Gambling, much like alcohol, is deeply Lindy so how do we allow for it while having it not be the be all end all

Yeah but the hyper financialization is how global markets can service Korean skin care, Japanese Matcha, and Chinese iphones while delivering them within 2hours straight to your door. I don't think you can have this robust global financial market with an army of people who know how they work, and not have that information spread into pure gambling. Robinhood is a household name now.

I think it’s deeper than that. I’ve been thinking about this a lot and I’m framing it as “addiction culture” It goes way beyond people being addicted to gambling. People are “addicted” to so many things and consuming at an unprecedented level across all industries. Some examples food/clothing/travel - everyone has their vice and while some people are anti-gambling, you have a better chance of getting rich from being addicted to gambling then being addicted to instagram reels. As a society we definitely have an addictions to gambling, but I think addiction to consumption is the larger issue.

Hard work under capitalism has never made people rich, that's only a lie rich people tell themselves. Culture has always existed in spite of capitalism, but cannot ever thrive under it. Those things are just people trying to survive an inhumane system that exists to enslave us.

Nobody building around DAUs seem to want to work on real adoption efforts until the fee grift token casino culture eases. Some are trying, but even KOL involved on platforms who bullpost for real world solutions and adoption seem to really only want to focus on high engagement slop and grifting fee from confusing people into back and forth selling for effortless WETH they’ll ignore taxes on. Builders would rather mint a copy of a hot casino than participate in initiatives like “Accept USDC” and that’s a problem.
