Meta AI integrates with WhatsApp and IG messages (probably FB, too?) xAI / Grok integrates with X and now… Telegram? impossible to think OpenAI won’t integrate with World or a social app somehow also interesting to see most replies have to do with data privacy and mistrust of a centralized entity

OpenAi is launching their own Social Media. I figured it was just Sora honestly because it's literally Pinterest right now. You can like and follow. They add comments and it's basically Instagram

At this point I genuinely think that they are going to build that social platform! Because I am not sure what platform is going to integrate OpenAI The biggest ones are taken by Meta and Elon, BlueSky won’t work with openai imo, and I am not sure they care about Farcaster ( YET ) so yeah building their own platform makes the most sense imo🌹

The issue is that World is still pretty small. Also, interesting, but Anthropic has no social play, putting them at a notable disadvantage in terms of distribution.

12M scanned, 27M app installs, growing over a million per month. Dunno how that translates to a social network pivot but it's much bigger than Farcaster, comparable size to Bluesky.

Bluesky is a niche network that does not really have any meaningful consumer distribution. Telegram is on a whole other level than Bluesky or World, it is an essential app particulaly in developing countries.
