In our on going saga of Netflix destroys all... Netflix is now worth more than Disney, Comcast, Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount combined (by a margin of a whole Warner Bros + Paramount too).
To make matters worse for everyone else, Netflix is just getting their ad offering underway, while everyone else is pretty maxed out. The old guard are all currently in some stage of trying to chop off their linear tv offerings too. This'll cut down on cost, but at the expense of a big portion of their own ad offerings.
Netflix's moat is only likely to widen as their $18B spend for 2025 and distribution to some 300M subscribes will continue to make them the first stop to shop movies/tv.
And then there are live events, which Netflix is just dipping their toes into.. Old guard will be lucky to survive without merging with each other.
But what they really need is an offering that Netflix can't match like a reinvention of the filmmaking process for all...
Old guard. /filmatree will soon help reverse the tide
