My interview with René Pinnell from Dweb Camp is finally out for the public on All Models Are Wrong Obv this one was complicated to publish since René's strokes and the announced shut down of Artizen where many people lost funds including my own @breadcoop This is likely the last interview he did before his stroke. I'm wishing him well in his recovery. ⬇️

For those affected by the Artizen situation, I'm happy to share a showcase that I've been working on built on the @breadcoop stack as an alternative to get feedback. https://tbsoc.github.io/pastry/ How it works: - Deposit and get pasUSD, pasEUR or pasETH. You can always redeem them 1:1 for the underlying token - The yield from those deposits generates matching funds - 10% of every donation goes into a wealth fund that permanently earns yield, so the matching pool compounds over time - Curators run funding rounds and choose which projects to include - Points from donating, inviting others and using the app let you steer each season's yield split between funds and projects - The core model already works in production with @BreadCoop for over two years. We've given over $60k in funds through our Solidarity Fund. There are plenty of technical decisions to be made but I first want to validate that this is something people want. We'd be happy to lead the development if people are positive.

I spoke to Simone Robutti. Simone works as an organization designer, adversarial researcher, and teacher. Formerly a software developer, he has been part of different chapters of Tech Workers Coalition since 2018. During the interview we discussed how to start a labor union at your tech company, innovative ways to go on strike, and how tech ideology as psyoped you to thinking labor struggle can’t work in tech. We also touched on how technical tools for assisting workers should be used and the role of tech sovereignty in these situations. https://theblockchainsocialist.com/tech-workers-coalition-adapting-the-labor-movement-for-the-digital-age/

Would you guys be interested in me writing down the actual history of the cryptoleft label? Idk how many people are aware of this but it's something I created through the subreddit back in 2018 originally. Of course I don't own the label or anything and it was meant to be open but maybe it'd help some people here?
