People generally become more focused with age
Experimentation costs both time and capital, but as you age, the cost of time outweighs the cost of capital
There's this solemn realization that you don't have a lifetime to do what you want to do. What once felt infinite, now can be counted in trenches.
So the judgement calls become steeper, you become cautious. You know you can only go all-in so many times.
It's a very tricky space to be in. On one hand you can't afford to be wrong so many times, and on another, you can only find right answers when you've exhausted all the wrong answers.
I think– one way to overcome this mindset is to become extremely intentional. To put life in every moment. To be ruthlessly willful and leave no gaps of un-lived life.
Do all you can, but do it well, do it fully.
