Anyone who says “social, not finance” confuses me
The fact that it’s social and it’s crypto allows us to reveal a new primitive consequence
the fundamental of a social media built on top of composable financial rails demands utility that extracts newer signals from these new primitives
What is Farcaster if not an overarching prediction market? you opine, you bet, you curate
In traditional social networks, what i said mattered far less because the wager around my voice had no value
your opinion has a theoretical market value - (given it’s 0 for most, but fundamentally it has a point of accruing)
how do we mine for this value?
how do we allow users to provide liquidity into beliefs?
how do we let others orchestrate their attention?
when attention and opinions are liquid- how do we let users tap in and out oft then quickly?
social is how we curate, discover, communicate opinions - adding finance on top of it allows us to measure, value, liquidate it
finance’s biggest class divide and critique has been the abstraction of measurable, the asymmetric information, and the metrics which were black boxed from someone who wasn’t paying attention - the subjectivity is what hurts the common folks. combining social allows us to make these systems transparent
Farcaster has the best opportunity to combine belief and market- and I am here to tap into it, so that people can have objective, democratized access to information that has real proven value
Hope you stay for the ride, it’s going to be very fun
