Several verses in the Bible depict Christ as a Bridegroom, one of which is John 3:29. As I have been reflecting deeply on themes of death, dying, and living well, it led me to consider how the soul of a departed individual embarks on their transition to meet Christ as a Bride.
This journey is supported by the prayers and rituals of their loved ones here on earth.
We pray that their soul is received graciously at the gates of heaven, and that our prayers help to release any attachments, unresolved matters they may have had on earth, and fears of the unknown.
