The mechanism of aspirin reduces inflammation. Athletes take it anecdotally to help with healing/soreness and performance is my understanding.

I like Whoop because it provides a recovery score and interprets a lot of your recovery data (HR, HRV, RHR). When I had it, I felt it guide my work outs better. It will track your habits and over time, can calculate which exercises will help/harm your recovery data. There is a monthly subscription.
