was talking to my web2 frens about how they got into crypto
it was more or less the same for all of them
- they saw bitcoin and crypto tokens pumping and people were making multiples on their investments
- they tried to understand what bitcoin and crypto was from youtube and googling (preferred YouTuber channels they watch regularly for other finance stuff)
- they tried to buy their first crypto from exchanges recommended in those youtube videos
- they started getting reels about memecoins specifically DOGE, BONK and some reels about Pi
- they downloaded phantom to trade memes on Solana
eventually they joined tg and wapp groups that shared trade recommendations and made some money
only a few of them are still in crypto trying out different stuff onchain
