What It Means for Digital Wallets The government is preparing a new rule that changes how digital wallets and crypto exchanges operate in Indonesia. The rule is part of the revised P2SK Law, specifically Article 215A paragraph four. The core point is simple. All crypto asset wallet activities must be transacted or reported through a licensed crypto exchange. This requirement is drawing attention across the industry. The rule targets institutions that manage digital financial assets such as exchanges, custodians, clearing houses, traders, and digital wallet providers. All of these institutions must be licensed by the OJK. Crypto digital wallets fall into this category. This means every asset transfer through a company managed wallet must be recorded on a crypto exchange. Transfers between wallets outside the exchange system will no longer be unrestricted.
