Agree with all of this. One thing I would add is that there’s a considerable level of consumerism and materialism in Japan/Asia. Hard to not participate with the incredible quality and craftsmanship on goods from Japan, but the amount of goods, foods and games for you to spend on and be distracted by is overwhelming.
