Forecast Loops opens today on @fellowship — 13 artists working across generative video, 3D scanning, performance, and code. Chira's curatorial frame starts from the observation that video has gone from a physical object to ambient medium. Paik put a magnet on a TV and bent the signal. Today the apparatus is invisible — algorithms, cloud storage, platform feeds — and the artists she's gathered respond by redirecting, slowing, repeating, or letting a system's incompleteness stay visible. She calls it a "quiet, provisional clawback of friction." The essay also names something about the on-chain art space directly: when an image can be generated, altered, and replaced at infinite velocity, where does attachment gather? The material offers almost no resistance. For artists trying to make work that means something — not just performs — that's the real constraint. Not the tools. The absence of friction. Show runs through September. Curated by Barbara Chira, Misfits Studio.
