Remembering Hal Finney on the anniversary of his passing 11 years ago, the crypto world lost one of its greatest pioneers, Hal Finney, the first person to ever receive BTC from Satoshi Nakamoto back in January 2009. But Halโ€™s impact goes far beyond that historic transaction. He was an early developer of Pretty Good Privacy (PGP), an important part of digital encryption. Hal also created the first reusable proof of work system. He is remembered as a lifelong advocate for privacy, decentralization, and freedom in finance. Hal Finneyโ€™s legacy is not just in Bitcoin, but in the entire movement for digital privacy and financial sovereignty. Such a legend!
