Guardiola: This has been the hardest season of my career
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has called the 2024/25 season the hardest of his 16-year career. After exiting the Champions League knockout playoffs and falling behind in the Premier League race, Guardiola reflected on a difficult campaign.
“It’s been the most difficult, that’s for sure,” said the 54-year-old. “I didn’t find the way to make us feel comfortable and win games.”
Key injuries, including to Rodri, and a lack of consistent energy were cited by the coach. Despite this, Guardiola is hopeful of ending the season with a top-five finish and silverware in the FA Cup and Club World Cup.
