Possible cooking hot take: unless you're making a condiment (e.g. chili oil), smashed garlic cloves can replace minced garlic in a recipe.
I've been doing this for all my slow cooked meals and tomato sauces for pasta lately. As someone who enjoys garlic, I love getting the cooked garlic glove
