On the Squarespace issue...
When @velodrome / @aerodrome had the DNS hijacked the decision was to lock out the domain names at the TLD service level, until there's a decentralized alternative for the nameservers.
In the meantime, just work out with every possible partner to move to a decentralized infra for the front-end.
To this date, afaik there's only @fleek and @filebase running an independent decentralized fleet to support their infra and integrate properly with IPFS with performant gateways/CDNs.
At the DNS level, the sad truth is that @ensdomains and @3dns is the closest to the decentralized values to park your domain name.
