Before @letshaveaword Round 4 starts, a few updates 👇
First: thank you. To everyone who’s played, shared feedback, offered critiques or praise... this has already been way more fun and rewarding than I anticipated. You can spend your time anywhere on the internet, and you chose to spend some of it with an onchain word game. I really appreciate that.
Now, a few changes going into Round 4:
1️⃣ Neynar score threshold → 0.55
Lowering the bar here to allow more players and more action, while still keeping solid security in place. The first three rounds provided good signal on what works, and this feels like the right balance between openness and protection.
2️⃣ Top 10 Early Guessers window → first 850 guesses
This is closer to ~20% of the word list and better reflects how rounds actually play out. It should keep the early leaderboard competitive for longer and prevent the Top 10 locking too quickly.
3️⃣ Referral payout updated: 10% → 5%
The extra 5% will now be allocated to the next round’s seed. No one has won via referral yet, and I want to prioritize players and long-term sustainability. This change helps ensure every round starts strong without relying on manual top-ups.
4️⃣ Word list updated
A player flagged a word that probably shouldn’t have been on the wheel... I agreed and decided to remove it. I’m always open to suggestions for additions or removals. The canonical word list is now 4,373 words.
Why all this?
The goal is to prioritize players, keep the game healthy over time, and let the system run on its own. I appreciate your patience while I tune things round by round.
