what’s insane is, as much as this video looks like a movie, it all took place in one room.
i’ve analyzed the video, and i saw that he used a few things to make this very engaging despite the limited space:
> multiple POVs. From close-ups and wide shots to Over-the-shoulder shots, he showed us multiple details on the board and the characters from different angles to sell the story and keep us engaged.
> lighting. there are three visible sources of light in the room: the fluorescent tube, the orange desk lamp and a standing lamp.
(actually there’s four if you look closely, but the last one is outside the room, only visible behind the second character after he entered the room)
> the music and sound effects. the ominous background track is perfect for this scene. and he cuts it off the moment the second character enters the room to emphasize the pattern interruption.
so if you want to make better content, you can take one or two pointers from this.
