My favorite thing to do after moving to the UK is collect examples where words mean the exact opposite.
Example: “punt” in the U.S. comes from American football and is to delay something2not have to deal with it now.
In the UK “to take a punt on” is “take a bet on” and is seen in an aggressive context.
