We experienced an exceptional tournament that unfortunately ended in a dramatic way. I never intended to go against the principles of the game I love; I only sought to protect my players from what I believed was injustice.
What some view as a rule violation was simply an emotional reaction. After reflection, we chose to resume the match and fight to win this trophy for you.
I apologise if anyone was offended, emotion is part of football. Thank you to our President, the Minister of Sports, the Federation, our supporters, my family, and especially my players: 28 warriors who gave everything for their nation. It is an honour to lead you.
