Everything is so obvious in hindsight. I pray each day for a glimmer. Just a small peek around the corner, all I’d need to change everything. Even with the best of intentions, I fire my daily arrows into the void. Standing in a cold, dark field, alone with my bow drawn. With one eye closed, I trace the arc above the treetops, their outlines faintly aglow. Somewhere beyond, a target awaits beside a flickering campfire.
