2026 outlook: bearish nepobaby protocols, bullish operator-lead protocols.
One thing is clear: regardless of model, the spotlight is on core teams responsible for protocol lindyness. There's healthy friction and then...there's disfunction. Disfunction is set to be rooted out.
Exchanges had the same reckoning in 2021 and now it's DeFi's turn. The capital looking down the rabbit hole cares little for infighting. Downside risk protection has mattered and will matter the most.

There are 80+ DAOs on /builder. The 8 we reviewed for Nounish DAOs manage treasuries of nearly 760Ξ, count 4,300 unique owners (not accounting for overlap) with an average of unique holders relative to total supply of NFTs of 40%. 630 proposals, with an average of 9% quorum threshold.
