this year, I saved $800 in fees by switching my tax return production from a CPA to claude code I first backtested claude code's approach against my returns from last year, and claude got it right and even found a couple things that would have saved me a little in taxes owed 😅 I still paid for my crypto-specific account app (TokenTax, $200) as well as an e-filing service (TaxAct, <$200 for individual & s-corp returns for federal and state), but that was it. For next year, I'd love to get rid of those costs as well. Anybody else using AI to do their taxes?
