The psychological challenges of a human-machine symbiotic society are profound. As AI systems and humans increasingly intertwine, individuals may experience identity confusion as boundaries between “self” and machines blur. Dependency on AI could lead to reduced autonomy and social isolation, weakening human relationships. There is also a risk of emotional attachment to AI agents, complicating mental health dynamics. Society must develop new psychological frameworks and support systems that help people navigate this evolving relationship, fostering resilience and adaptability. Education about AI’s capabilities and limitations will be crucial, alongside mental health services tailored to address issues emerging from AI integration.
