Hitting absolute rock bottom hits differently when you have a 1.5yo looking up at you and need something you can't provide now I know a tech feed isn't really the place for this, but somehow this community is the only place i feel comfortable enough to be this vulnerable Never thought i'd be the one writing a cast like this. i poured my heart into building public goods for the last 2 months. i loved the work, but it drained everything i had, and now i'm facing a terrifying financial wall. i'm urgently looking for freelance work to keep the lights on (+10yrs iOS/Swift & Web3 dev) If you don't need dev work, even a small tip/warp for baby essentials would honestly save us right now. (please don't see this as begging, it breaks my heart to even post it. the circumstances pushing me here are heavier than i can share publicly, but if anyone actually wants to listen, my DMs are open and i'd love to talk)

today is my birthday. birthdays don't really feel the same anymore, and honestly, it’s hard to feel much when there’s no one around. today is just me and my little one. the last year was incredibly heavy and exhausting. it was mostly about just trying to survive and dealing with really tight circumstances and financial struggles. i also lost the presence of my neighbor and only friend, she was the one who brought me a cake and celebrated with me last year. not having her around today makes the silence even louder. but a new chapter is starting today, and i really hope it actually brings something new, and maybe a little bit of good luck for a change. i wanted to take a moment to thank this farcaster community. your support has meant the world to me. i’ve found some of the best people in my life right here, especially @wake @rish @rrrita.eth and i’m genuinely proud to call you friends. you guys give me so much hope. cheers to better days (my neighbor took this last year.)

few days ago, a friend sent me 15 usdc to try polymarket. since i used to build on polygon, i knew the tech but never used it. i took a blind 5-min bet on btc, bought a share at 0.50, and doubled my money in a couple of minutes. the fast ux felt like magic. i saved the total amount as a part of the upcoming rent but as a developer, i wanted to understand the backend. i assumed i was playing against the house or a leverage pool. i was wrong it’s a pure zero-sum game. when you win, you are directly draining the wallet of a desperate loser on the other side the seamless ux is psychologically engineered to induce addiction, making people chase losses until they are wiped out. checking the user comments confirmed it. people losing everything to break even i am currently going through the hardest financial crisis of my life. i am the exact target for "easy money." but i will never touch this again, even if a win is guaranteed. taking money from desperate people is unethical. some money just costs too much.
