Antoine Semenyo bought a full-page ad in the local Bournemouth Daily Echo to thank the fans. All in all, it’s one of the best — truly textbook — farewells in Premier League history. Semenyo gave everything in every match right up until he signed his contract with Manchester City. He scored the winning goal with his very last touch in the black-and-red shirt, and then addressed the supporters like this. Pure gold. Of course, you’d like to see likeable clubs keep their best players through the middle of the season, but January windows will always get in the way. City with Semenyo will come to Bournemouth in May. It’s going to be warm.
