Very helpful tool. Of course, most of my Dataview queries use dataviewjs, frequently as separate scripts that I load with dv.view(). But for many applications, the performance benefits of Bases are pretty striking.

👀 With this clipper and my streamlined Zotero > Obsidian workflow, I can manage almost all of my knowledge intake directly in Obsidian.

More fun with Bases. You can use a code block to embed them in a normal markdown page! I created this page with two embedded base tables. If I assign a "done" date to a source in the first table, it instantly moves to the second table. How cool is that?

Yes. Any property of a page can be used as a column in the table. You can also created columns with derived values using functions. For example, if you had a "First Name" property and a "Last Name" property, you could create a column for "Full Name" using concat(First Name, " ", Last Name).

Bases is a great addition to Obsidian. I quickly spun up a new Base to track the articles that I am reading as part of my research. The filtered table views load instantly, and I can edit the data live in the table. This makes tagging and entering dates across multiple pages amazingly simple. I can't wait to see what other views and functionality come to Bases in the future.

Bases is going to garner most of the attention in the new release of Obsidian 1.9, but the new Footnote View is also a great addition. This is going to be super helpful when working on longer texts with lots of references.

Everyone in crypto should care about stablecoins. The best way to bring millions of people onchain than replacing their tradfi payment account with a wallet. Everyone in crypto should care about stablecoin legislation. Tell your Senator this matters 👇 https://x.com/standwithcrypto/status/1923142534856847634

My favorite line from this talk by @camilleroux was his answer to a question about the threat that AI poses to generative artists: "What I notice is that a project without explanation is rarely interesting. Collectors will also buy a story, a concept, to see the progression."

Very nice. My only criticism is that you did not include your farcaster handle on your list of social links on your slides. 😒

🚀 Today, we unveil Fairmint’s onchain infrastructure for cap table and private securities management — a major milestone years in the making. Our system transforms cap tables into programmable smart contracts, enabling real-time settlement, verifiable ownership, and built-in compliance. It’s time to return control to founders and investors 🔥 This launch comes as the SEC’s Commissioner Hester Peirce calls for innovation-friendly regulation — a vision we’re proud to support. We built this for forward-thinking companies ready to move beyond spreadsheets and embrace a future of compliant, programmable equity. Because private markets deserve better.
