Proof of stake (PoS) is far more energy-efficient than proof of work (PoW), as it doesn’t require massive computational power to validate transactions. In PoS, validators are chosen based on the amount of cryptocurrency they hold and are willing to "stake" as collateral, making it more sustainable for the environment.
