I think you can generally find fulfillment in life so long as you are in an intentional state of forward momentum in whatever domains matter to you Most life dissatisfaction is not rooted in State but rather a lack of positive derivative. E.g. in this graph, given three entities at varying states and times, despite having the worst State the green dot has the highest baseline life fulfillment (without even knowing what the future has in store since they exist at a point in time before that future has played out)
