times square is interesting cuz, getting on times square does not actually bring that much attention value to [thing]. but it brings the opportunity to take a picture of yourself with [thing] on times square. and that social media post probably gets more attention value than the actual [thing] on times square.

yea perhaps. think it depends on the specific credential, and even within the same credential, wide spectrum of value

sadly this is also what the credentialism is turning into

i had my art on times square a few times. it was the most underwhelming thing to watch. like yay cool my photo was up there for 15 seconds, literally nobody but me is looking at it. even posting about it on social felt forced but i did it bc it looks good for the people involved in making it happen.
