internet likes to act anti-credential but revealed pref of people who actually take risk on people either via investing or hiring, end up still placing importance on credentials (at least as an initial screen) bc most competent ppl have acquired some form of credential (though not the other way around, ie most credentialed ppl are not competent). but ofc you can still be successful without institutional credentials if you have credible non-institutional credentials. the internet and technology help remove barriers to developing non-institutional credentials
